Description

Provide first-tier support and assist site LAN manager in various duties. Under direct supervision, assists users with day-to-day problems by troubleshooting problems occurring in programs or systems. Operates computer system to diagnose programs; troubleshoot and test systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide desktop support and technical assistance to end users on a variety of issues.

  • Assist with supporting a small Windows server environment.

  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.

  • Troubleshoot PC hardware and software issues.

  • Set up and maintain user accounts.

  • Assist with administration and monitoring of data backups.

  • Monitor and apply security patches and updates in a timely manner.

  • Document and maintain IT related procedures.

  • Maintain inventory and licensing records for hardware and software acquisitions.

  • Assists with special projects and assignments as needed.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware and network problems in physical environments.

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, which includes US citizenship.

  • Must be customer service focused and have excellent time management skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, well organized, and have ability to prioritize work.

  • Requires ability to:

  • Communicate effectively (both verbal and written)

  • Work collaboratively with team members, and on an individual basis

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 office applications

  • Experience with Veeam backup software

  • Knowledge of Cisco VoIP phone administration

  • Disk encryption using Bitlocker

  • VPN clients

  • MCSE, A+, Net+, Security+ certifications
