Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a driven and talented software engineer to provide project support for a brand-new multi-physics desktop application. A demonstrated background with a bachelor’s in computer science or related field. ARA’s brand new office, located at OSU’s west campus is looking to hire a software developer in its Computational Multiphysics Group. What you’ll do as a Junior Software Engineer:

  • Design, develop, and debug python applications

  • Work with a unique group of highly skilled and experienced mathematicians, physicists, RF/antennas engineers, and computer scientists to solve complex, to create a simulation and modeling software.

Requirements to be a Junior Software Engineer:

  • US Citizen , able to receive and maintain DoD Security Clearance.

  • Bachelor of Science, Computer Science of similar field.

  • Python software development with a good understanding of advanced software constructs and programming concepts

  • Strong object-oriented design techniques and reusable component design

  • Ability to demonstrate visually appealing interfaces with user-centric design principles that you have designed.

  • Good communication skills and self-directed with the ability to work with a fast passed development team.

  • Experience using version control systems, such as Git.

Preferences for a Junior Software Engineer:

  • Previous work creating designs for desktop applications.

  • Experience with developing designs for advanced data visualization.

  • Familiarity with Qt or PySide.
